Background
The colonisation of Africa has a long history, the most prominent being Western colonization from the 19th century to the 20th century, when every part of the continent was colonized at least once. The modern colonial period began ending in the 1950s and fully ended by the 1970s, when power was given to independent states.
Between the 1870s and 1900s, Africa faced European Imperialist
aggression, diplomatic pressures, military invasions, and eventual conquest and
colonization. At the same time, African societies put up many attempts to resist
colonialism in their countries. Before the early Twentieth century, much of
Africa had been colonized.
Although many people say England just used Africa for the recourse, colonialism
helped South Africa and England both progress for the better. We can see that
now both societies are more advanced and civilized because of the help England
provided.
